General Conference

We made a surprise trip to Salt Lake City for General Conference as President Parker
Was called as an Area Seventy to serve in the North America Southwest Area. It
Felt very uncomfortable leaving the mission!Especially since we couldn’t tell anyone,
Even our own children until it was read at General Conference. The first morning
We were there, we took this photo in front of the Salt Lake Temple where we were
Married and sealed 40 years ago. Looking forward to another great 40 years on this journey
Together.

We loved every minute of inspired meetings before General Conference.  This picture
Was taken right after being set apart by Elder Neil L. Anderson of the Quorum of the
Twelve Apostles.
What a blessing to get to learn and serve under these leaders.

We love it every single time to enter the beautiful conference Center.

What a Conference and as Elder Holland said, “What a Prophet!”

We love and sustain this Prophet of God.

A revelatory Conference in every sense of the word!

You never know what the Lord has in store for you next.  Don’t get comfortable!
We are focused on the Australia Adelaide Mission but humbly look forward to
Serving wherever we are called.

A huge perk of being at conference was getting to see so many people we love.  This is
President and Sister Chevarri from Costa Rica.  They served as our youngest son,
Brandons mission president and wife in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
So happy to see Elder Wilkins and Elder K. Johnson

And to finally meet Krista, Elder  Wilkins wife!

More returned missionaries that made our day! Elder Hanley, Sister Esplin and
Sister Freitas!
So excited that Sister Freitas is attending school in Utah so we will see her occasionally.
All the way from Brazil!  Love you so much Sister Freitas!

So fun to meet the eternal companions of a few of our returned missionaries.  This
Is Mr. and Mrs. Carslile!  We are so grateful to see these missionaries following
God’s plan of happiness as they are sealed to an eternal companion in the House
Of the Lord.  Love you Sister Esplin (Carlisle)!

Goodbyes

Elder and Sister Reeves have served faithfully and diligently in the mission office
After rescuing us as another senior couple had to leave suddenly. They have been
An answer to our prayers.  They came with the perfect experience and capabilities
That we needed.  There  are no coincidences!  This was a real mission miracle!

Today we celebrated their service as they will be preparing to train another couple
Arriving in the mission.  Thank you for sharing your talents and time with us and for
Answering the call to hasten the work in whatever way you can.  We will miss you
And we love you always.

After some tears, hugs and goodbyes, the time came to take Sister Caesar and Elder
Jugo to the airport as they have completed their full time missions.  Elder and Sister
Withington were privileged to give them their last hugs! Not only do they leave a big hole
In the mission, but an empty place in our hearts.  We will miss them terribly! Valiant,
Hard working, consecrated missionaries who will go on to do great things for the Lord.
We love you Sister Caesar!

We love you Elder Jugo!

Mildura

Even though Elder and Sister Johnson had just arrived from the US, we took them with
Us on the 5 hour drive to Mildura for zone conference. It was a great way to get to know
Them quick and we loved the company on the drive.  Plus, they got to see the
Beautiful town of Mildura. Here is the great Mildura Zone plus Elder and Sister Johnson.
Back: Elder Bryner, Elder Shortland, Elder Jordan, Elder Siaw, Middle: Elder Siaosi,
Elder Barfuss, Elder Fala, Elder Fangaiuiha, Elder Maliu, Elder  Stubbs. Front:

This was our first “Boot  Camp 4-Give me More!”  The new missionaries who had never
Been to a boot camp zone conference didn’t know what they were in for.  Great trainings,
Lots of role plays, going out and finding to apply what has been trained on, a delicious
Lunch and pizza for dinner, and all being taught by the spirit what we need to learn to be
Better and more consecrated missionaries.  We are always grateful for senior couples
Who serve so diligently and provide the meals at the zone conferences.  Thank you
Elder and Sister Smith.  Here getting a hand from Elder and Sister Johnson!
We all agreed the best potato soup we’ve ever eaten!  Thank you Sister Smith!!

Elder and Sister Johnson sharing a bit about their journey.
Elder Fala, Sister  Peock, President and Sister Parker and Elder Siaoci. We love this sweet
Sister who runs several of the pickeries in Mildura and is a GREAT missionary.  She is

Thatcher, Arizona!
Boy are we grateful for this new couple who have arrived to serve here with  in the

Welcome Elder  and Sister Johnson and thank you for answering a Prophets call
For couples to serve a mission.  We love you already!

Darwin

If you have to be where a cyclone is coming, these are the people you want to have
With you.  Elder and Sister Lea are as prepared as one can possibly be.  They  made sure
The missionaries had food and water, had flashlights, were in safe and stayed in,
Until the cyclone had passed and the local officials said it was safe to be out.
They are a blessing to everyone they meet.  Loved by all and serving wherever they
Go.  HEre with Anthony, Serena and Sharon where a huge tree has been uprooted
By the cyclone.
Sister Ili and Sister Harrison cleaning the church parking lot.
Sister Lea keeping parents updated  so they know all missionaries are safe and sound.

Darwin

Darwin is an exciting place to serve!  But this transfer was especially unforgettable as
Cyclone Marcus came ripping through Darwin uprooting huge trees and causing
Over 1 billion dollars in damage.
As soon as the ok was given for people to be out and about, these wonderful Missionaries
Put on their yellow helping hands vests and went to work!  Including Elder Syme and
Elder Hymas who had only arrived 2 days before.
they cleaned up the church parking lot where several large trees had been uprooted.
Sister Shakespear using the choppers!
they helped some members who’s footpath had been turned over by a large tree
That had fallen.
they moved trees and limbs out of swimming pools
Elder Fiu carrying a big load of limbs from the yard
they swept and raked peoples yards up.  Sister Ili, Sister Shakespear and Sister
Harrison working hard.
Elder Dickson leading the way and organizing the cleaning efforts.
